Thermal FX

Support

A camera filter app for iPhone. Three effects: a heat-map thermal look, an x-ray look, and a ghost detector.

Thermal FX does not measure temperature. iPhone has no infrared sensor. The app re-colours the ordinary camera image by brightness — it is a look, not a measurement. Nothing in it sees through walls, objects or clothing, and the Ghost meter is a party effect, not evidence.

Common questions

Why are there no temperature numbers?

Because there is no sensor that could produce one. Real thermography needs hardware your phone does not have — a FLIR One or Seek Compact attachment. Any app that shows you degrees from the plain camera is making them up. This one gives you the look, done properly, and says so.

The picture is all one colour

The thermal effect maps brightness across the palette, so it needs a scene with a range of brightness. Point it at a person or a warm object in a dimly lit room rather than at a flat, evenly lit wall. The intensity slider controls how hard the range is stretched.

What does the Ghost meter actually respond to?

Two real inputs: how much the image changed between frames, and the sound level from the microphone. That is genuinely all it is. Wave at the camera or make a noise and it moves.

I bought Pro and it is not unlocked

Open the paywall and tap Restore purchases, making sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with. If that does not do it, write to us with the date of purchase.

How do I cancel the subscription?

Tap the info button in the app and choose Manage subscription, or go to Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge.

Where do my photos and videos go?

Into the app's gallery, and into your photo library if you allowed that. Nothing is uploaded anywhere — see the Privacy Policy.
